Forestry
One industry we wanted to highlight is the forestry sector here in Cumberland County. There are many different types of jobs in this field that fit almost every skill set.  From the science behind harvesting, to managing business operations, developing markets for wood, and operating heavy machinery, there is almost something for everyone.

As the forestry industry pivots to find more markets for pulp wood and be more sustainable, our local forestry sector has really taken the lead. Along with the Connector, many other community members and organizations helped form a strategic plan for the industry's
next steps. This can be found in the 2020-2022 Strategic Plan. While it may seem that times are tough, growth is in the future.

Post - Secondary Opportunities Close to Home

Grade 12, as if it is not stressful enough, it seems as though this is your only chance to choose what you want to do with the rest of your life and that you have to move away to do it.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE!
  • University is not for everyone, and that is ok.
  • College is not for everyone, and that is ok.
  • Moving away for school is not for everyone, and that is ok.
This is why we have created this booklet on post-secondary programs offered in Cumberland County and adjacent areas. This booklet includes University, College, and other learning opportunities.
