​So how does this webinar series work?
Participants have the option to do it live or on-demand.

Webinars will be taking place over Zoom and will allow webinar hosts and participants to interact with one another. Sessions will be recorded and shared with the group for those that want to watch it on-demand.

On-Demand
After our live sessions on Tuesday, participants will be sent the recording. Watch it on your own time with the option to attend a drop in session on Thursday's to ask questions to our facilitators. These drop-in sessions are not mandatory.  Facilitators will be available each Thursday from 3-4pm during the webinar series.

Modules​

MODULE 1 – BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS
Module 1 explores the business module canvas using the JA ‘A Business of Our Own’ lesson 1 on starting the business model canvas. This module gives youth a chance to take their business idea and break it down into smaller pieces on the canvas. This is a chance to think through and flesh out the business idea and have an outline prepared for the business plan. 

MODULE 2 – STARTING THE BUSINESS PLAN
This module discusses the importance of a business plan and goes over the proposed business section of the plan. An important component of a business plan is industry research. You need to understand the industry you intend to open the business in. It is important to understand the industry to determine if the business will be feasible in the area you are opening the business in. This module will be on how to conduct the industry research as well as, helpful resources to use and what to look for. 

MODULE 3 – MARKETING AND OPERATIONS
Module 3 dives into the marketing and operational piece of the business plan. This touches on developing target markets, understanding your competitor and doing a SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis.

MODULE 4 - FINANCE IN BUSINESS 
The final module of the webinar series is about the financial piece of a business plan. The financial piece is the most important part of the business plan. In this module we go over assumptions, start-up costs, what statements are required in the business plan, and how to create these financial statements.
