Dave McNairn, LL.B.
Dave McNairn – was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia. He received his Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2000 and his LL.B from the University of New Brunswick in 2003. After articling with one of Atlantic Canada’s largest firms, Dave returned to Cumberland County and began practicing with Hicks LeMoine Law in 2004. Since joining the firm, Dave has focused his practice primarily on Real Estate, Corporate & Commercial, Estate Planning and Municipal Law. Dave also practices Criminal law and Civil Litigation and has appeared in Small Claims Court, Provincial Court and the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. In 2010, Dave became a partner at Hicks LeMoine Law.
Dave has been an active volunteer in the community. He served on the board of directors for the Amherst and Area Chamber of Commerce for a number of years and was President of the Chamber for two years. Dave has also served as President of the Cumberland North Liberal Association and assisted with Bill Casey’s campaign for Cumberland-Colchester in 2016. Dave has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Amherst since 2005 and will serve as President of the Amherst Rotary Club for the 2017/2018 year.
Within the legal profession Dave has served as president of the Cumberland Barrister’s Association and has been a member of council for the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society from 2008 to 2013. Dave continues to sit on the Complaints Investigation Committee for the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society and is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Lawyer’s Association of Nova Scotia. Dave is licensed to practice in both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
